Summer Camp Programs - 2015

Daniel Webster Council summer camps are safe, affordable and FUN! Our camps are accredited by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America and licensed by the State of New Hampshire.

Hidden Valley Scout Camp

  • Traditional Boy Scout summer camping with unlimited opportunity!
  • Enjoy a week with your troop (chartered option) or on your own (provisional option)
  • First Year Camper Program
  • 45 merit badges offered, including 5 new badges for 2015
  • Extensive Waterfront, Shooting Sports, Scoutcraft, Ecology, and Handicraft program areas
  • COPE ropes course
  • New S.T.E.M program for 2015, with Welding, Radio, Space Exploration, Inventing, & Programming
  • Meals provided in the dining hall

Chartered (Troop) Registration
This option is for group registration only. If your son is attending Hidden Valley with his Boy Scout troop, please register through your troop's camp coordinator or Scoutmaster; the camp coordinator will then use this option to register the entire group.

Provisional (Individual) Registration
Use this option to register your son for Hidden Valley if your Boy Scout troop is not attending camp as a group of if your son cannot attend your troop's scheduled session.

Camp Bell

  • Patrol programs for more fun with your Scouting friends!
  • Choose unique programs featuring skills from the past and modern, action-packed adventures
  • Options for both new Scouts and veteran campers
  • Challenge Valley extreme obstacle course, Foxfire metalworking area, Logging Camp, Mountain Man, Native American program, Equestrian, Bell Farm, Aquatics, All-Terrain Vehicles, COPE Ropes Course, and more!

SPOKE 

  • Exclusive advancement opportunities and adventure for Scouts ages 14 and above.
  • Choose SPOKE-exclusive merit badges or adventures every day, and then re-join your troop for afternoon troop activities
  • 10 program offerings to choose from, including back-country adventures or merit badges
  • Merit Badge opportunities: MOVIE MAKING, CITIZENSHIP in the NATION & WORLD, PHOTOGRAPHY, KAYAKING, and PERSONAL FITNESS
  • Mountain bike and hike to explore the backcountry, and kayak on Crystal Lake

Voyageur Programs

Valley Voyageur

  • Backcountry trek for Scouts ages 14 and above
  • A perfect intro to backpacking—five days, four nights on the trail
  • Practice Leave No Trace principles and earn the Leave No Trace Awareness Award
  • Experience Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Kayaking, Swimming, and Trail Maintenence
  • Earn Climbing Merit Badge, and complete many requirements for Cooking, Hiking, and Backpacking badges
  • Campers can attend Valley Voyageur individually or while at Hidden Valley or Camp Bell with their troop (let your troop camp coordinator know if you want this option and don't register using the link below)
   
 

Register for Valley Voyageur individually using this option; if you want to participate in Valley Voyageur while at camp with your troop, let your camp coordinator or Scoutmaster know and he or she will register you using group registration.

Session 4: Aug. 9 - Aug. 15

 

White Mountain Voyageur

  • Backcountry trek in the White Mountain National Forest for Scouts ages 14 and above
  • Begins and ends at Griswold Scout Reservation.
  • A perfect intro to backpacking—five days, four nights on the trail, including some of New Hampshire's 4,000 footers
  • Practice Leave No Trace principles and earn the Leave No Trace Awareness Award
  • Complete many requirements for Cooking, Hiking, and Backpacking merit badges
  • Campers can attend White Mountain Voyageur individually or while at Hidden Valley or Camp Bell with their troop (let your troop camp coordinator know if you want this option and don't register using the link below)

Register White Mountain Voyageur individually using this option; if you want to participate in White Mountain Voyageur while your unit is at camp, let your camp coordinator or Scoutmaster know and he or she will register you using group registration.

SCUBA at Hidden Valley

  • A partnership with Diver's Den Dive Shop in Manchester, NH and Divemaster Ron Hordon provides Scouts ages 14 and above and Venturers an opportunity to get PADI OPEN WATER DIVER certification and SCUBA Diving Merit Badge during a single week of camp!
  • Also earn Snorkeling BSA Award and participate in other aquatic activities.
  • Fee includes all certification materials and a high-quality set of mask, snorkel, and fins to take home.

 

 

Registration for SCUBA is done using the links below, even if a participant's troop or crew will be in camp the same week. Units should NOT include SCUBA participants in their group registrations for resident camp.

Counselor-in-Training

  • For young men and women ages 14 or 15 who are interested in working at Griswold Scout Reservation
  • First week is spent touring both camps, helping at 10 different program areas, and participating in team-building and leadership sessions
  • Second week is an internship in one program area at either camp

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) "Kancamagus"

  • The Daniel Webster Council's premier youth leadership training experience
  • Being held at Camp Bell on June 28 - July 4
  • For Scouts who are age 14 and up (13 year olds considered in exceptional cases), First Class or above, and have (or will have) a leadership responsibility in their troop
  • Space is limited and applicants must be accepted into the program following online registration
