Daniel Webster Council summer camps are safe, affordable and FUN! Our camps are accredited by the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America and licensed by the State of New Hampshire.

Hidden Valley Scout Camp

  • Traditional Boy Scout summer camping with unlimited opportunity!
  • Enjoy a week with your troop (chartered option) or on your own (provisional option)
  • First Year Camper Program
  • 45+ merit badges offered, including 5 new badges for 2015
  • Extensive Waterfront, Shooting Sports, Scoutcraft, Ecology, and Handicraft program areas
  • COPE ropes course
  • New S.T.E.M program for 2015, with Welding, Radio, Space Exploration, Inventing, & Programming
  • Meals provided in the majestic Gilbert Dining Hall

Chartered (Troop) Registration
This option is for group registration only. If your son is attending Hidden Valley with his Boy Scout troop, please register through your troop's camp coordinator or Scoutmaster; the camp coordinator will then use this option to register the entire group.

Provisional (Individual) Registration
Use this option to register your son for Hidden Valley if your Boy Scout troop is not attending camp as a group of if your son cannot attend your troop's scheduled session.

Camp Bell

  • Patrol programs for more fun with your Scouting friends!
  • Choose unique programs featuring skills from the past and modern, action-packed adventures
  • Options for both new Scouts and veteran campers
  • Challenge Valley extreme obstacle course, Foxfire metalworking area, Logging Camp, Mountain Man, Native American program, Equestrian, Bell Farm, Aquatics, All-Terrain Vehicles, COPE Ropes Course, and more!

  • Patrol cooking in the campsites!
 

Chartered (Troop) Registration
This option is for group registration only. If your son is attending Camp Bell with his Boy Scout troop, please register through your troop's camp coordinator or Scoutmaster; the camp coordinator will then use this option to register the entire group.

SPOKE at Hidden Valley

  • Exclusive advancement opportunities and adventure for Scouts ages 14 and above.
  • Choose either a SPOKE-exclusive Merit Badge or a short adventure every day, and then re-join your troop for afternoon troop & evening activities
  • 11 program offerings to choose from, including back-country adventures or Merit Badges
  • Merit Badge opportunities: MOVIE MAKING, CITIZENSHIP in the NATION & WORLD, PHOTOGRAPHY, KAYAKING, and PERSONAL FITNESS
  • Mountain bike and hike to explore the backcountry or kayak on the very spacious Crystal Lake
  • Campers can attend SPOKE individually or while at Hidden Valley with their troop (let your troop camp coordinator know if you want this option and don't register using the link below)
 

Register for SPOKE individually using this option; if you want to participate in SPOKE while at Hidden Valley with your troop, let your camp coordinator or Scoutmaster know and he or she will register you using group registration. SPOKE is offered at Hidden Valley all eight weeks of the summer of 2015.

Voyageur Programs

Valley Voyageur

  • Backcountry trek for Scouts ages 14 and above
  • A perfect intro to backpacking—five days, four nights on the trail
  • Practice Leave No Trace principles and earn the Leave No Trace Awareness Award
  • Experience Rock Climbing, Rappelling, Kayaking, Swimming, and Trail Maintenence
  • Earn Climbing Merit Badge, and complete many requirements for Cooking, Hiking, and Backpacking badges
  • Campers can attend Valley Voyageur individually or while at Hidden Valley or Camp Bell with their troop (let your troop camp coordinator know if you want this option and don't register using the link below)
   
 

Register for Valley Voyageur individually using this option; if you want to participate in Valley Voyageur while at camp with your troop, let your camp coordinator or Scoutmaster know and he or she will register you using group registration.

Session 1: June 28 - July 4
Session 2: July 12 - July 18

Session 4: Aug. 9 - Aug. 15

 

White Mountain Voyageur

  • Backcountry trek in the White Mountain National Forest for Scouts ages 14 and above
  • Begins and ends at Griswold Scout Reservation.
  • A perfect intro to backpacking—five days, four nights on the trail, including some of New Hampshire's 4,000 footers
  • Practice Leave No Trace principles and earn the Leave No Trace Awareness Award
  • Complete many requirements for Cooking, Hiking, and Backpacking merit badges
  • Campers can attend White Mountain Voyageur individually or while at Hidden Valley or Camp Bell with their troop (let your troop camp coordinator know if you want this option and don't register using the link below)

APEX WEEKS

Advanced Program Experiences

Are you looking for an additional experience this summer?  Check out our APEX offerings for 2015!  Spaces are limited, so reserve your spot early!  APEX Weeks are available to individuals, patrols, Troops or Crews on a first-come, first-served basis. 

 

SCUBA & AQUATICS WEEK at Hidden Valley

  • A partnership with Diver's Den Dive Shop in Manchester, NH and Divemaster Ron Hordon provides Scouts ages 14 and above and Venturers an opportunity to get PADI OPEN WATER DIVER certification and SCUBA Diving Merit Badge during a single week of camp!
  • Also earn Snorkeling BSA Award and participate in three other aquatic activities (or Merit Badges) or receive certification as a BSA Lifeguard!
  • Fee includes all certification / training materials and a high-quality set of mask, snorkel, and fins to take home.

Must be 14+, pass the BSA Swimmer's Test & comply with medical and testing restrictions required by BSA & SCUBA.

Registration for SCUBA is done using the link below, even if a participant's troop or crew will be in camp the same week. Units should NOT include SCUBA participants in their group registrations for resident camp.

STEM WEEK at Hidden Valley

  • An opportunity to spend concentrated time at the brand new STEM Program Area created for 2015 at Hidden Valley!
  • A chance to earn 3 of 5 Merit Badges offered in the STEM program area (Welding, Radio, Inventing, Programming or Space Exploration)
  • A chance to also earn Robotics Merit Badge by building your very own robot from scratch using a kit you will keep and take home at the end of the week! (Cost of kit is included in fee chart on right)
 
STEM WEEK is open to Scouts of any age who has attained the 1st Class Rank.
 

Registration for STEM WEEK is done using the link below, even if a participant's troop or crew will be in camp the same week. Units should NOT include STEM WEEK participants in their group registrations for resident camp.

APPRENTICE WEEK at Hidden Valley

  • An opportunity to 'get your hands dirty' and experience work in the trades fields... while also improving the various facilities in need of attention throughout Griswold Scout Reservation!
  • A chance to complete at least 5 of these Merit Badges:  American Labor, Automotive Maintenance, Composite Materials, Electricity, Home Repairs, Painting, Plumbing or Woodwork.
  • A chance to work alongside our Griswold Scout Reservation Rangers and the very dedicated members of the GSR Property Committee!
 
APPRENTICE WEEK  is open to Scouts of any age who has attained the 1st Class Rank.

SHOOTING SPORTS WEEK at Hidden Valley

  • An opportunity to experience every firearm and 'shooting sport' offered across Griswold Scout Reservation (e.g.: .22 Rifles, Target and Field Archery, 12 gauge Shotgun at the Trap Range and 12 gauge Shotgun at the Sporting Clays course, and .50 caliber blackpowder musket and the tomahawk throwing range!
  • A chance to complete all three Merit Badges:  Archery, Rifle Shooting and Shotgun Shooting.
  • Cost includes all ammunition at all ranges!
 
SHOOTING SPORTS WEEK  is open to participants ages 14+.

National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT for Venturers)

  • Daniel Webster Council is proud to offer its first-ever co-educational National Youth Leadership Training course especially for Venturers (Scouts welcome, too)!
  • Being held at Hidden Valley on August 9 - August 15
  • Designed for male & female Venturers who are age 14 and up, and have (or will have) a leadership responsibility in their Venture Crew
  • Space is limited and applicants must be accepted into the program following online registration

Counselor-in-Training

  • For young men and women ages 14 or 15 at the time they serve who are interested in learning what it is like to work at Griswold Scout Reservation
  • First week is spent touring both camps, helping at 10 different program areas, and participating in team-building and leadership sessions
  • Second week is an internship in one program area at either camp
