Representative TRAINING

This training is specifically designed to provide information to the Chartered Organization Representative. Those who attend will learn about the following: 

• How the chartered organization and its chartered organization representative fit into the district and council operation of the Boy Scouts of America. 

• The three phases of the chartered organization representative's job.

• The role of the Boy Scouts of America, the local Scouting council, and the Scouting district in supporting the chartered organization in its programs for youth. 

• The tasks of the chartered organization representative. 

• How the COR functions as an active member of the district committee and represents the chartered organization as a voting member of the local council. 

• The responsibilities of the unit committee and how it relates to the chartered organization representative and chartered organization. 

• The parallel responsibilities of the chartered organization and the local Boy Scouts of America council.

Who should attend? Chartered Organization Representatives are strongly encouraged to attend. Other Scouters who wish to understand the role of the COR are welcome.
