| Hidden Valley Scout Camp Hidden Valley offers a traditional Scout camping atmosphere with merit badge opportunities, First Year Camper Program, Troop activities, camp wide competitions, dining hall and much more. Hidden Valley is the place Scouts think of when they think summer camp! A quick glance through the Valley and you will see beautiful lakes, several mountain tops for great day hikes, hundreds of Scouts involved in dozens of activities, top notch facilities, an enthusiastic staff of over eighty scouts and scouters, and finally… great food in a majestic dining hall. Aquatics: 3 waterfronts, sailing, swimming, water games, canoeing, kayaking, rowing, snorkeling -
C.O.P.E.: our ropes course includes low element team hurdles, hi-ropes personal challenges, climbing and rappelling tower -
Shooting Sports: 3 ranges: shotgun, target archery, .22 rifle, competitions -
Handicraft / Communications: leatherwork, woodcarving, basketry, art, communication and improvisational skills -
First Year Camper: introduction to basic outdoor skills, troop & patrol method, rank advancement, teamwork, games -
Scout craft: advanced camp craft skills of pioneering, wilderness survival, orienteering, Dutch oven cooking, and backcountry skills -
Ecology: animals, forestry, plants, weather and our ecosystem -
Valley Voyageur: five days in the backcountry, hiking, rock climbing, kayaking and low impact camping -
Camp-wide: ultimate Frisbee, patrol games, water carnival, Frisbee golf, campfires Camp Staff Our camp staff is some of the finest Scouts and Scouters around. More than 65% are Eagle Scouts. Over 85% are returning staff. All participate in intensive training prior to camp. The BSA National Camp School certifies all key staff. Trading Post A wide selection of T-shirts, souvenirs, candy, snacks, soda, camping equipment, souvenirs, and merit badge pamphlets are available. Health Services The Valley is equipped with a health lodge staffed by a resident nurse, and an EMT. They provide competent care for injuries and illness. A nonresident physician is on call at all times and local hospitals are available for campers needing additional attention. Campsites Campers sleep in wall tents placed on wooden platforms. Cots are provided. Latrine facilities are within the campsite. Showers are nearby. Dining The Valley features family style meals and lunch buffet in its modern dining hall. Food service professionals serve quality menu and ample amounts. |
